MAROON Sign With CENTURY MEDIA RECORDS

East Germany's vegan straight-edge quintet MAROON has inked a deal with Century Media Records.

MAROON have a reputation as one of Europe's busiest and energetic live bands, thanks to the numerous shows they played during the past six years of their existence (and more than 60 just between June and December this year!). For 2004's gigs they didn't only stop at European festivals like With Full Force Festival and Pressure Fest, but also shared the stage with HATEBREED, AGNOSTIC FRONT, SWORN ENEMY and friends and labelmates HEAVEN SHALL BURN. All members were heavily influenced by the "new school" as well as straight-edge bands like EARTH CRISIS, MORNING AGAIN and DESPAIR, but share a love for diverse metal acts such as AT THE GATES/THE HAUNTED, IRON MAIDEN, METALLICA, SLAYER, SEPULTURA, DISMEMBER and UNLEASHED.

"We are very happy and grateful for being able to work with such a competent and professional label," MAROON said in a statement. "If anybody had told us when we started the band we would have declared him/her completely nuts, but now it's reality and we are proud to be part of the Century Media family! It's insane to be on a label whose releases we loved as kids and whose music still means so much to us. Bands like UNLEASHED, GRAVE, TIAMAT, ULVER, BORKNAGAR, THE HAUNTED and our brothers HEAVEN SHALL BURN are now 'colleagues' — and that's more than a confirmation for our work over the past few years. Our thanks go out to all labels (xCatalystx and especially Alveran Records) and friends who supported us. Now we have the possibility to reach more and more people with our message. With such a strong partner behind us we want and will be able to tour as well as take the crucial step over to the USA and into the rest of the world. We are looking forward to a busy future and hope for a long cooperation with Century fucking Media - yes!!!"

In early 2005 Century Media/Abacus Records will release MAROON's acclaimed album "Endorsed By Hate" in North America with new artwork and two enhanced live clips from this year's With Full Force Festival ("Shadow Of The Vengeance" and "Still Believe In What Has Fallen Apart"). Alveran Records will re-launch the album in Europe (including the enhancements) through their freshly inked production and distribution deal with Century Media Records. Its re-release is right in time for the European "Triumph Of Hate" tour with Switzerland's CATARACT.
